Kilsyth — Local Shopping NeedsKilsyth town centre is 4½ miles (7km) away and has a number of local shops which can provide groceries. There is a Farmers Market on the first Saturday morning of each month — if you are booked in then, why not come along and see the local goods and produce on sale. There are also a number of local community groups taking part in drama and puppet shows to raise awareness of social and ethical issues like Fair Trade. Kilsyth also has a swimming pool with a health suite where you can go for a swim and a sauna. The Burngreen park has a range of play areas for young children, including a bicycle area where children can cycle around a scale model of a road with various junctions, traffic lights and other roadway features — this is an excellent introduction to road safety and roadway use for children to learn safe ways to cycle on the roadway without being exposed to the dangers of an open highway. |
